Project Description
The project consists of a building with 3 storage areas for rare and precious books and a public reading room.
The storage areas and reading room are required to be kept at very stable temperature and humidity conditions.
A full air conditioned air handing system with a small amount of make up air was installed controlled by a Siemens PX Modular control system.
The storage and reading area are monitored by quick change (certified calibration) temperature and humidity sensors which average the areas temperature and humidity conditions. The control system continuously monitors the sensors to check that all conditions remain within strict tolerances.
If any sensor should drift outside of the tolerance an alarm is immediately raised at the main control panel operator's display and the sensor is isolated from the control system monitoring and control operational strategy.
The temperature and humidity sensors measuring elements are designed to be unscrewed and changed in seconds with a replacement calibrated element to enable the control system to function seamlessly. Please click link for feature article:
