Project Description
Merchants Academy is independent of local authority control and is co-sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol .
The complex is a campus style with 7 buildings connected by walkways facing on to a landscaped central area.
Each building has a combination of its own independent heating plant, air handling plants, air conditioning and natural ventilation systems.

The BMS system controls, monitors and interfaces with all of the systems.
The buildings are networked together to a BMS operator's terminal in the facilities office.
The BMS installation is based on the Siemens PX range selected because of its open communications based on BACNET. Its capability to integrate with the Swegon Gold packaged air handling of units utilising a MODBUS protocol and the Window Master Natural ventilation system utilising EIB/KNX.
